1. Introduction

Escalate Apps ("we," "our," or "us") provides the Migraine Tracker mobile application (the "App"). We firmly believe that your personal health history—especially chronic pain records, attack patterns, and medication usage—demands the highest standard of confidentiality and ethical protection.

This Privacy Policy outlines our architectural approach to privacy, explaining how the App handles your data and ensuring you have complete transparency and control over your health records.

2. Architectural Privacy-by-Design Principles

Migraine Tracker was engineered from the very first line of code around a strict local-first, on-device architecture:

• No Account Required: You never need to create a profile, sign in, or provide an email address, phone number, or password to use the App.
• 100% On-Device Storage: All your attack records, medication intake, pain mappings, and clinical reports are stored exclusively on your device in a sandboxed, local SQLite database.
• Zero Remote Servers: We do not operate proprietary cloud servers, user account databases, or remote tracking endpoints that collect your health records.
• Never Sold or Shared: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal health data to pharmaceutical companies, insurance providers, third-party data brokers, or advertising networks.
• Zero Health Data Analytics: We never attach tracking telemetry to your attack symptoms, pain intensity, medication names, or doctor reports.

3. Information Handled by the App

A. Health Information Stored Strictly On Your Device:

• Attack Logs: Start and end times, pain intensity ratings (mild, moderate, severe / 1–10 numeric scale), and attack duration.
• Headache Location Mapping: Pain locations logged on the interactive anatomical Head Map (e.g., temporal, orbital, occipital, vertex, sinus, neck).
• Symptoms & Features: Premonitory symptoms (prodrome), sensory sensitivities (photophobia, phonophobia, osmophobia), nausea, and aura phenomena.
• Medications & Dosages: Acute rescue medications and preventive prescriptions logged from our clinical catalogue, along with medication-overuse tracking days.
• Clinical Profile (Optional): Name, date of birth, reported clinician diagnosis, and headache onset year, which appear strictly at the top of your exported clinical PDF and CSV reports for your physician's reference.

B. Information Transmitted Only Upon Your Direct Action:

• Doctor Reports (PDF / CSV): The App generates clinical summary reports entirely on your device. These reports are only transmitted when you explicitly invoke the native operating system share sheet (e.g., sending via AirDrop, Mail, Message, or saving to local storage). Escalate Apps never receives or intercepts these exports.

C. Voluntary Communications:

• If you contact our support desk via email at escalateapps@gmail.com, we will only use your email address and message contents to assist you with your inquiry. We do not link support communications to your on-device application records.

4. Third-Party Services & Operating System Backups

Because Migraine Tracker is designed to operate offline and on-device without remote servers:

• No Advertising or Tracking SDKs: We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral trackers, or data-broker libraries.
• Operating System Backups: The App’s local database is backed up through your phone's native operating system backup mechanism (Apple iCloud Backup on iOS; Google Drive / Android Backup on Android). These backups are stored within your private Apple ID or Google account, encrypted according to Apple's and Google's respective security standards. Escalate Apps does not have access to your personal cloud backups.
• Anonymous Crash Telemetry (Opt-in): If you choose to enable crash reporting with Apple or Google at the device OS level, we may receive anonymized, non-identifiable system stack traces that help us diagnose software bugs. These crash logs do not contain personal health information.

5. Data Ownership, Retention, and Deletion

You maintain absolute ownership and control over your health data at all times:

• Data Export: You can export a comprehensive copy of your logged history at any time by navigating to the Report or Settings screen and selecting PDF or CSV export.
• Permanent Data Erasure: You can wipe all data stored in the App immediately by selecting Settings > Reset All App Data, or by deleting the App from your device. Because your records are not stored on external servers, uninstalling the App immediately destroys the local database.

6. GDPR, CCPA / CPRA & Regional Health Privacy Rights

For individuals residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, California, or other jurisdictions with comprehensive data privacy laws:

• You have rights regarding data access, rectification, portability, and erasure. Under our local-first architecture, these rights are directly under your control within your phone's interface.
• We do not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
• Because Escalate Apps does not hold, host, or process Protected Health Information (PHI) or personal data on remote servers, your records remain within your own physical custody.

7. Children's Privacy

Migraine Tracker is intended for adults and adolescents aged 13 and older (or 16 and older in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately so that we can assist.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements in the App or changes in legal regulations. When updates occur, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
